This workshop was built in the year 1978-80 by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The project was financed and built with financial and technical assistance by JICA. This is one of the most modern automobile workshop in the country on an area of 19 acres of land. The workshop is equipped with modern machineries, tools and equipments. This is a self sufficient auto workshop, where all types of repair (Heavy) and body building works are done. It has modern facilities for painting and assembling of CKD, SKD chassis and body. 50 VOLVO bus body had been assembled in this workshop. The annual production capacity of the workshop is 100 big buses per year. Well equipped shops / sections with wel-trained mechanical staffs and graduate engineers have enriched the capacity of the workshop for quality jobs. There can be joint venture for assembling of vehicles, tyre-retrading and body assembling and building in this workshop. Around 300 persons can work simultaneously in the workshop. This workshop is one of oldest with modern machines, equipments, tools and wel-trained mechanical staffs and qualified Graduate Engineers. Mostly the light vehicles like cars, Jeeps, small trucks are repaired (all types of repair), serviced and painted with quality guaranty at a very cheaper rate. The government has opened this workshop through Gazette notification to all govt., semi govt., autonomous bodies for repairing their vehicles, in this workshop without any tender. Most of the government offices, Institutions, bodies including Prime Ministers office, Presidents office, secretariats etc. are availing this facilities for repairing their vehicles.
