Welfare and Recreation
 
BRTC plays an active role in welfare activities by way of providing bus service for ladies, blind and disabled persons as a part of its welfare activities. A school in the name of “BRTC PUBLIC SCHOOL” was established in the year 2003. Yearly tree plantation is a regular phenomenon every year. As a part of recreational activities, BRTC values the sentiment of its officials. Every year all officers, Staffs go for a fresh breath in the countryside for picnic with their wives, husbands and children’s. River cruise, hiking, angling etc. with cultural evenings enrich the picnic activities and gives positive impulse for next years services for the people. Details are as follows:

BRTC Public School was established in the year 2003 at Joydebpur workshop premises. Initial response from the members of public was overwhelming. BRTC authority is trying to bring the school under its organogram

  BUS SERVICE FOR WOMAN:  
 
Bus services for the woman plying in different routs in Dhaka City is an unique example of helping women. These services are provided mainly for the school /college students, Women/girls working in different offices and garment factories. BRTC has to give subsidy for this service. There is a tremendous demand for women bus services from different women organizations. The donor from home and abroad may extend their support to BRTC to uphold and expand these special services for the women.

  BUS SERVICE FOR THE BLIND AND THE DISABLED PERSON:  
 
Blind or disabled persons are allowed to travel BRTC buses without fare. Patronization is required to continue this facility for these unfortunate human being. BRTC with its limited capabilities and capacities is very much willing to offer special services for the same purpose.
  
     
  TREE PLANTATION :  
 
All of BRTC’s land located in the different areas in Bangladesh are now under government tree plantation campaign. BRTC has already planted hundreds & thousands of saplings in all the units/depots adjacent areas not being used for its operational activities and thus playing a vital role in controlling air pollution, gas emission and soil erosions

  REHABITATION OF 3 WHEELER AUTO-RICKSHAW OWNERS/ DRIVERS:  
 
After banning of 2 strokes three wheeler from Dhaka city roads, BRTC was asked to make possible for rehabilitating the affected owners/drivers of these modes for their sustainable livelihoods. As such BRTC acted promptly & stood by the side of these effected owners/drivers by distributing CNG run 3 wheelers to them. Despite that during that crisis period 100 single deck buses were taken on lease from the Nitol Tata to cease the sufferings of the traveling mass.

  BRTC AMBULANCE SERVICE:  
 
BRTC introduced a fully Air-conditioned Ambulance Service for the convenience of Dhaka Metropolitan City Dwellers.

BRTC sports club is one of the oldest football club in Dhaka football league and was established in the year 1967. With a very meager financial support BRTC football club competing in the national football league competition successfully.
