BRTC
has the most modern training institutions for drivers, auto-mechanics
and transport personnel in the country. Jodevpur training institute,
40 Kilometers away from Dhaka is one of the most scenic &
modern training institute of its kind in the whole of Asia. 800
students in different trades can be trained in this institute
at a time. This was established in the year 1980-82 with ILO/UNDP
technical and financial assistance.
Qualified graduate Engineers and well experienced operator instructors
are the major resource of the institute. Hundreds of trained drivers,
mechanics are serving abroad with reputations and thousands of
trained drivers and mechanics are working throughout the country.
Recently BRTA and BRTC together giving original laminated driving
licenses to the drivers substituting faulty driving license through
a weeklong special driving training course in this institute.
All other training institutes of BRTC in Chittagong, Bogra, Dhaka,
Khulna, Jhenidah also conducting the same course. The training
manager at Joydevpur training Institute may be contacted for more
details of training courses of all the training institute of BRTC
across the country. Hostel facilities for 250 students at the
Joydevpur training Institute is available for accommodation. Games,
sports and cultural facilities are also available in the premises
of the Joydevpur training Institute. This training Institute may
be used for training purpose of SAARC countries.
